She has recently worked in a local authority as part of a 14–19 partnership team focussing on improving students’ results and performance at post-16.
Vicky has been successfully engaged with education for more than 30 years as a teacher, senior leader, local authority adviser and consultant, specialising in the secondary sector.
Vicky’s achievements led her to be recruited on 2 occasions as an extra deputy head in schools in special measures. As a local authority adviser and consultant Vicky has been responsible for ensuring that staff in local schools and colleges have up to date knowledge and understanding of new initiatives and of educational pedagogy. She has also been responsible for developing the 14-19 curriculum offer so that it is suited to the full range of abilities and aptitudes of young people.
Sonia has been involved in education for over 20 years. She began her career as a teacher, and then moved into a range of middle and senior management positions in London colleges. She began her work with schools 9 years ago, developing alternative provision for Key Stage 4 learners. Sonia has worked with over 90 different post-16 institutions, and developed considerable experience of working with schools, colleges, work-based learning providers and Local Authorities.
Her consultancy work has involved high-level strategic working across boroughs and with a range of partners to develop the 14-19 curriculum offer and the effective application of best practice. It has also included delivering Sixth Form Reviews – including the observation of teaching and learning – to support schools in improving standards and outcomes and in preparing for inspection.
