Sonia Thomas
“Sonia has excellent people skills and has the ability to share information with colleagues from a range of backgrounds. She pays great attention to detail and has thorough research skills. This results in being very well informed of current developments and forthcoming consultations. Often this knowledge and information enabled us to access funding which was previously unknown.
Sonia equally has a very good understanding of how young people learn and develop and demonstrated within our school her lesson observation skills and her ability to feedback to colleagues in a professional, constructive manner.
Colleagues valued Sonia’s input and knew they could rely on her to provide sound information. Equally colleagues felt that she had a common sense approach and would give very appropriate directions. Above all Sonia’s warmth and genuine care for young people and adults was always recognised and appreciated as a strength.
I recommend Sonia for her skills and expertise on 14-19.”

“Sonia worked with us for about a year leading a leadership development project. The work initially focused on identifying leadership strengths and areas for improvement among a diverse leadership team, in one of six faculties. This work comprised 360 degree assessments and then feedback to the whole team and coaching with individuals. There were some firm messages which last to this day in terms of changing patterns of leadership behaviour and focus. In the past two years significant progress has been made in terms of success rates, always the bottom line impact measure for this kind of work.
Sonia has a supportive yet firm style of working which challenges at the same time as it enables and the staff feedback on the support she provided in this project was very good indeed. The college has changed for the better and the foundations laid by this work have certainly helped in this change.”
