Mentoring and support for new teachers or tutors

Our mentoring support is suited to tutors who are new to teaching. A member of the group will work with individual tutors to analyse and develop their skills in:

  • effective lesson planning
  • identifying learners’ skills and support needs using active learning strategies
  • assessing learning
  • developing and using resources effectively

Tutors will be encouraged to reflect on their practice by keeping a learning journal which forms the basis for discussion at tutorials

Outcomes:

By the end of this process tutors/teachers will feel confident in

  • Planning lessons which take into account individual learners’ skills and abilities
  • Using strategies to develop learners’ skills
  • Understanding ways in which to support learners in class
  • Assessing the progress made by learners in each session
  • Using a range of resources with learners

Cost: £500 per day or £300 per half day, if you require more than one day, please contact us for a quotation

The number of days is negotiable and depends on the individual learning plan drawn up for each tutor.
